水循环The Water Cycle

Water moves from the surface of Earth into the air. Then the water moves back to Earth's surface .This movement is called the water cycle.

Water rises into the air as a gas when it is heated. The water in the air forms Clouds. clouds are formed from water that rise from the surface of Earth.

The drops of water in the clouds get heavy. The water in the air falls to Earth.The water may fall as rain,sleet冻雨雨夹雪, hail/heɪl/冰雹. or snow.Water that falls from the sky is called precipitation./prɪˌsɪpɪˈteɪʃən/ 降水 Most of the liquid water on Earth is salt water. Most of the fresh water on Earth is ice.

You know water rises when it is heated.The heat from the sun turns the water to a gas. This is called evaporation蒸发. The gas is called water vapor./ˈveɪpə/水蒸气

Condensation /ˌkɒndɛnˈseɪʃən/ 凝结 happens when the water vapor cools. The vapor turns into tiny drops of water. The tiny drops of water form around dust. This is how clouds are made.When water is heated，it can move from the ground to the air.Think of a cold drink on a hot day.The water on the outside of your glass is from condensation.（冰箱里拿出来一瓶啤酒观察）

You may have seen the grass shining with dew 露水on a sunny morning. These water drops that form on the grass are also from condensation. The grass cools during the night. Water vapor in the air turns into drops of water on

the grass.
