The museum is in Binhai New Area of north China's Tianjin Municipality.
Five exhibition halls, which on the themes of "the ancient ocean," "ocean today," "journey of discovery" ,"the age of the dragon" and"Ocean and astronomy"respectively had been opened.
Visitors will learn about the relationship between ocean and life evolution, discoveries in navigation, marine life, the environment and sustainable development.
The museum allows 3,000 visitors per day. Visitors need to book tickets in advance through its official website or WeChat account.

Triassic marine reptile fossil in China

In the Triassic about 250 to 200 million years ago, the southern China, especially the southwestern regions were covered by warm shallow sea. It was home to variety of marine reptiles, including ichthyosaurs,eosauropterygians,placodonts,protorosaurs,ect. Nowadays the fossil remains of this prehistoric animals are buried in the mountains.

Reptiles were derived from amphibians and fishes about 360 million years ago,in the Devonian,some of the sarcopterygians explored on land and gradually become amphibians,which the evolved to be reptiles.The reasons that made fish leave the water and go ashore are uncertain. The traditional explanation is that in the late Devonian some fish left dried-up lakes and crawled onto land in search of new sources of water. Whilea nother theory of pre-adaptation suggests that during the dry period in,the Devonian,some of the fish which had been equipped with limbs and lungs got their chance to survive on land by modifying the functions of their organs.

Since their birth,reptiles have evolved in all terms of movement prediction, reproduction, growth and development. Rapid and efficient adaptive radiation has enabled them to quickly occupy the land, the sea and the sky.

About 66 million years ago,at the end of the Cretaceous,the age of the dragons was over. The Binhai Library in Tianjin, China, has been making the rounds on social media for its incredible white floor to ceiling bookshelves, and all-around gorgeous interior design. 

The six-storey building, which was designed by Dutch architectural firm MVRDV, currently contains 200,000 books.

It's pretty much a book lover's dream come true.But upon closer inspection, you can tell the rows and rows of books in the library's main hall are actually rows with images printed on.😓There are undoubtedly a couple of books strategically placed across the bookshelves, but they're pretty few and far between.The library has other rooms in which there are traditional bookshelves (and are actually filled with books), but authorities官方,权威人士didn't allow Binhai to put books in the main hall.The main atrium is only approved for "circulation, sitting, reading and discussion," not book storage, authorities have decided.
