An orchestra管弦乐队 is a group of musicians playing instruments together.

The orchestra /ˈɔːkɪstrə/ is directed by a conductor.

He/she helps the players to play together to get the right balance so that everything can be heard clearly, with a baton/bəˋtɑn /.

The instruments of the orchestra are divided into 5 districts： the strings弦乐器，woodwind木管乐器， brass铜管乐器and percussion打击乐器.

The strings are the biggest section，although there are only five kinds of instruments： violin， viola中提琴/vaɪələ/，cello/ˈtʃɛləʊ/ 大提琴，double bass（低音提琴） and harp（竖琴）/hɑːp/

The brass section has five instruments：

The percussion section has the largest variety of instruments. Many kinds of drum like bass drum, 低音鼓大鼓 snare drum, 小军鼓 ，djembe,cymbals and a variety of others
