A Review of the 14-day Summer Closed English Immersion Training for Teachers of Tianjin Basic Education, July 8-21, 2019. Time flies! As we are immersed in the mood of hardworking tiredness, homesickness, and happiness of the Improvement of our teaching abilities, time of our summer training comes to the end.
We still remembered the morning when the coach came to deliver us to the training place--Tianjin College of Commerce(TCC), we were moved by the thoughtful service given by the Training Center.
We still remembered the day when we gathered together in the meeting hall, attending the Opening Ceremony of our summer training. We're so lucky to be chosen taking part in such formal training program!
We still remembered the time when Miss Yuan Fei said representing the center that the training started, and the time when the five trainers finished their introductions, how we anxious to learn from them, and trying to make progress sooner!
During the following two weeks, we were required not to use our mobile phones, even though we have some problems of understanding, or we have something urgent to handle by phone. This is very strict to us all! But we know it's the best way for us to avoid being disturbed by outside things. And only by this way, could we engaged in the studying.
During the training period, we weren't allowed to be late for class, or to speak Chinese all day through (except contacting with outside after class), or even being absent from the class.
If there is someone who dare to break the rules, a very beautiful yellow card will appear in front of you! The only thing we could do was to settle down and work hard, try our best to listen more, practice more, read more, think more, cooperate more, and take more notes, do more summaries... All in one sentence, is to improve ourselves as quickly and effectively as we can.
This was really effective! Gradually we notice that we could catch up with the speed of the teachers, and understood more and more materials, we were engaged in the classroom activities, and comprehended the most of them; and grasped more and more teaching techniques that we had never used before.
Thanks to all the trainers!

Thanks to beautiful sunny young Grace McCarrick, our homeroom trainer. Thanks to sweet-tooth chair-sticking musician and key person, Simon Murray. Thanks to kind, smiling, thoughtful Joy.

Thanks to tall, lovely, active girl Laura. Thanks to the witty trainer who has strong organizational skills, Jess. Thanks to handsome magnetic-voice slipper-wearing Metten Grant. His classroom games are so many , so interesting, so useful and effective, that all of us tend to give our peer teaching with his games. They came far away from the United Kingdom, prepared the knowledge of the UK and the Royal Family especially of the Queen for us to know. They designed suitable teaching technologies (like teaching pronunciations, teaching vocabulary, teaching reading, teaching writing, teaching grammar, presentation skills, teacher talk, classroom games... etc) for us to understand, to practice and to use. They introduced many useful classroom activities, teaching technologies and effective teaching aids to us. Their main idea of teaching is, "work smart, not hard." They are knowledgeable and capable. All of them were well educated and graduated from universities, they are all teaches in schools of primary or secondary, they're capable enough for the Summer Training Program.
They are strict but patient, enthusiastic and dynamic. They wouldn't allow phones appear in class, but always persuaded us to work on the tasks and raise questions, and were always willing to help; they were happy to see us engaged in the processes, and try their best to make us speaking discussing practicing.
Thanks to the staff of the hotel. They provide us a clean and comfortable place to live in.
Thanks to the restaurant. They provided us nice delicious food all days.
Appreciation to all the other staff members for their efforts contributed. We have spent wonderful time together here.

The most of all, we should give our greatest appreciation to the training center, especially Miss Yuan Fei. Whenever she was needed, she was here with us.

The following video is about the first Wednesday evening's activities. It was joyful, Competitive, and needed group cooperation. I was lucky to win the Best Sportsmanship Award. The Center Provided safe, well-organized and convenient environment for us. We were lucky to be chosen and trained. We've made great progress in our teaching skills and English comprehensive abilities. Together with the young teachers, I feel like being a youth again. We were getting together rehearsing the song. We were going through the song"500 miles" for the closing ceremony. The trainees of Primary 2 were preparing "the Thank You Speech" for the closing ceremony. We recited the poem"Shall i compare thee to a summer's day?" which written by Shakespeare on the closing ceremony. The song "auld lang syne" sung by other class performed on the Closing Ceremony. And we should give thanks to ourselves. The time we spent together and the friendship we have achieved will make our future life more colorful.
Record a piece of video after the farewell party. For the future days, we will try our best to teach with the technologies we've trained here, and disseminate the teaching technologies of all sorts of class types back to our school and to our district. We're sure that our English class will be more attractive, more interesting, and more effective in the future!
