In May, the flowers are brocade and the shade is like the sea. Everything seems so passionate and vibrant! In this beautiful season, Haikou Meiwen Maple Leaf International School held a school-wide English writing competition .

Home is the harbor of the soul, home is very important to each of us! Let's take a look at the home in the hearts of the students of Grade 1!

家是心灵的港湾，家对我们每个人来说都很重要，看一下一年级孩子们心中的家吧！

The body is very important to everyone. Having a healthy body is our eternal pursuit! The students of Grade 2 and Grade 3 painted lifelike bodies with their brushes!

身体对每个人来说都很重要，拥有健康的身体是我们永恒的追求！二年级和三年级的孩子们用画笔把我们的身体描绘的栩栩如生！

The beautiful campus is our favorite place. In the minds of the students of Grade 4, it is a note, connected like a TV series to our childhood! It is a wild goose filled with magic that takes us to the beauty of nature! It is the source of our happiness, and it also increases our　　knowledge.

美丽的校园，是孩子们最喜欢的地方。在四年级孩子们的心目中，它是一个个音符，串联起我们的童年；它是一只有魔法的大雁，带我们领略大自然的美妙；它是我们快乐的源泉，同样也使我们学到许多知识。

Hainan is beautiful! People living in Hainan face the sea every day. They listen to the sound of the waves, look at the sun rise and sunset! Look how the students of Grade 5 painted their views of Hainan with their words and brushes!

海南风光秀丽，生活在海南的人每天面对着大海，听着海浪拍打的声音，望着海上红日东升或落日西沉的奇景！看一下，五年级的孩子们是如何用他们的语言和画笔描绘海南！

The students have such good writing skills because they have good reading habits! The river of their knowledge is so clear because there is a source of living water. The greatest advantage of reading is that it enables those who seek knowledge to learn from it and those who are ignorant to become knowledgeable! Nowadays, everybody is reading! Maple Leaf students are unwilling to be behind the curve - they want to lead. Look! All of them are attentive.

孩子们有如此好的写作功底，那是因为他们有良好的阅读习惯 ！问渠那得清如许，为有源头活水来。读书最大的好处在于它让求知的人从中获知，让无知的人变得有知！在全民阅读的时代，枫叶学子也不甘居于人后，瞧，各个都看得聚精会神。

Reading can not only enhance children's expression and writing abilities, but also broaden their knowledge. They are exposed not only to the knowledge in textbooks but also to the breadth of knowledge in books that they have never touched in their daily life. Reading is opening the door to a new world for our children. They are always amazed. Maybe there will be scientists, artists and writers in the future. For example, in their three-minute speech in class, senior students can completely rehearse after reading English picture books.This reflects the students' strong organizational ability and collaborative ability. This also increases students' vocabulary and cultivates their language sense.

阅读可以增强孩子们的表达能力与写作能力，还能扩宽孩子们的知识面，不局限于教材中的知识。阅读还能激发孩子们的兴趣。书本上有许多知识是他们平日里不曾接触的，但通过阅读仿佛为孩子们打开了新世界的大门，令他们惊奇无比，说不定未来会出现一个个的科学家、艺术家、文学家呢!比如课前3分钟演讲，高年级的学生就完全可以通过阅读英语绘本后排练出来，不仅体现了学生强大的组织能力和协作能力，还能增加学生词汇量，培养语感。真是一举三得！

These works not only show the rich imagination of Maple Leaf students, but also fully demonstrate the students' ability to read, write and improves penmanship. Every activity is carefully designed by Maple Leaf teachers to open up a unique world for the children. Of course, the students in Maple Leaf will always give you a surprise and bring happiness to all they meet!
