一鸟在手可值两鸟在林。

bird in the hand解作为“已到手的东西”,意思是“有把握的事”;而 bird in the bush则解作“未到手的东西”,也就是“没有把握的事”。所以全句的意思是:已到手的,即使少也胜过未到手的;未到手的即使有很多,也是空的。这就是“多得不如现得”的意思。所以中文译成“一鸟在手,胜过两鸟在林”或“两鸟
