The passage presents us what a new comersees and feels at the first day at senior high. It is close to the real life of students. So it will surely arouse their interest in the class activities. By studying this lesson can get a general idea of how to express about their thought about school life. Then guidestudent to read the passage carefully and try to findmore detailed information. At first, I will ask themto answer the first question: What are the main dif-ference between this school and Lisa s junior high?Students will give the answers and I will present theanswers on the blackboard. This can help student to understand the structure of the passage. Then studentswill read the passage again with some questions. Forexample, why does Li Kang think the class rooms areamazing? Students will find the answers and discussin groups. Later, students will give their answers bydescribing a picture on the screen. After this activity I will ask students to notice the word amazing by the sentence and show another word amazed and letstudent guess the difference of them. After . learningthe differences between these two words, the studentwill complete the sentences with the objective wordsjust like: amazing, amazed, embarrassing embarrassed. .In this way they can master the usage of the objective words. At last, students will tell the main ideaof each paragraph in their own words. Through careful reading students can get a general idea of howto express their thought about school life.
