YES, a special show MY DREAM, is the coming to Ottawa!

YES, the show will be at 7:30 pm in Algonquin Commons Theatre, on Nov. 14 in Ottawa;

YES, they are special because they are all disabled but unbelievable professional artists.

YES, The special show will be presented by Canada-China Culture Development Association (CCCDA)。

CCCDA is an officially registered non-governmental and non-profit organization in Canada, dedicated to developing international cultural exchanges, and organizing and promoting artistic events around the world, with the focus on North America and China.the Non-Profit Organization for the two countries' culture development and communications.

The extraordinary China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe is (CDPPT) back following Canadian’s royal welcome in 2012 in NAC.

Join us for an evening of beauty and hope.

The Troupe features a cast of some 52 professional artists - acrobats, musicians, singers and dancers. They are in their 20’s and are all handicapped. Some cannot hear, some cannot see, some have mobility issues. At each performance, the public gives the artists a standing ovation moved by their breathtaking performance as much as by the emotion that transcends all barriers of languages and cultures. The public also discovers new art forms such as language poems, dance by visually impaired artists and dance with sign language.

In 1987, about 30 disabled persons who loved arts founded the China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe (CDPPAT). There are 110 disabled performers and 37 staff members in CDPPAT. The average age of disabled performers is 20 and that of the staff members 29.

With a philosophy based on self-respect, self-confidence, self-improvement and self-reliance, as well as mutual respect, mutual care, mutual aid and mutual complementarities, they create programs, train performers, and implement publicity and marketing by themselves.

The troupe has visited over 100 countries and regions in Asia, Europe, America, Africa and Oceania, crossing the boundary of language, culture and nations, and bringing audiences the joy of art, enlightenment of heart and interaction of emotion.

It held many charity activities and non-profit shows, and set up MY DREAM Fund and donated for financially supporting charity projects both at home and abroad.

CDPPAT was referred to as “Image Ambassador for 600 million people with disabilities in the world” and “Torch Bearer for SPEICAL ART” by the Disabled People’s World Assembly and was designated as “UNESCO Artist for Peace”.

CCCDA is also presenting a Chinese Drama: "Life Between Heaven and Earth", Performed by National Theatre of China

at 7: 30 pm, Thursday, 1st November 2018, in Centrepointe Studio

The drama is based on the novel "The true story of Ah Q" by Lu Xun

The True Story of Ah Q is an episodic novella written by Lu Xun, first published as a serial between December 4, 1921 and February 12, 1922. It was later placed in his first short story collection "Call to Arms" (吶喊, Nàhǎn) in 1923 and is the longest story in the collection. The piece is generally held to be a masterpiece of modern Chinese literature, since it is considered the first piece of work to fully utilize Vernacular Chinese after the 1919 May 4th Movement in China.

It was first published in the Beijing Morning News supplement as aserial. Originally Lu Xun wrote the story under the name "Ba Ren" ("crude fellow"), and so originally few people knew who wrote the novella. The first installment was published on December 4, 1921, and additional installments appeared weekly and/or fortnightly. The final installment was published on February 12, 1922. The story had nine chapters.
