圣母升天节

圣母升天节亦称“圣母升天瞻礼”、“圣母安息节”，是天主教、东正教的节日。为纪念传说中的圣母马利亚在结束在世生命之后灵体一齐被接进天堂，称“圣母荣召升天”，天主教在公历8月15日举行，东正教由于历法不同，相当于公历8月27日或28日举行。

这是根据《圣经》故事绘制的宗教绘画。画家充分发挥了想象力，大胆处理了圣母升天这一复杂的主题：圣母双臂张开，裙裾飘曳，在小天使们的簇拥下，向天上飞升。就作品来看，有着强烈的矫饰主义风格，浪漫而瑰丽，形式特点很强，人物生动细腻，圣母的虔诚神往与小天使可爱的形象动作，构成了一个并不缺少人情味的天上世界。
这是一幅具有恢宏气势的巨大壁画,描绘了圣母升天的神圣瞬间,具有浓厚的宗教色彩。画中，站于地面上的是仰天呼送圣母的人们,动态不一,但神情却是一致的虔诚,中间是一群被天使们簇引,身穿红衣的圣母,上方是有天使相随的上帝。这是提香早期作品,构图庄严,描绘真实细腻。
此画现存放在弗拉里荣耀的圣母堂。

天主教于公历8月15日举行 ，东正教于公历8月27日或28日举行 。这是关于圣母玛利亚最古老、神圣的节日。 教宗碧岳十二世于一九五0年十一月一日隆重声明，圣母灵魂与肉身一同升天为当信的教义，是天主启示的真理。此节日是圣母众多庆节中最大者。

圣母升天故事
一天，天使长加百列从天上下来，告诉圣母玛利亚她很快要被天国接纳，并赠予一根天堂的枣椰树枝，要她放在去世时的床榻前。所有听说圣母即将离世的人聚集在一起，悲痛地恳求圣母不要离开。圣母劝他们不要难过，因为她将到主的宝座前，将见到自己的儿子，将更好地为所有人祈祷，帮助并保佑他们。圣母嘱咐将她安葬在客西马尼村的橄榄山旁，因为那里安葬着他的父母和约瑟夫。
8月15日，圣母安详地躺在漂亮的床榻上，突然一道神光出现，耶稣在天使的伴随下开到圣母身边说：“来吧我亲近的人，来进入永恒生命的保存所吧！”圣母起身向耶稣拜去，对他说自己已经准备好了。说完安然离开人世。
