唐代 \"颜书一出,学者不绝\"。学颜书者除颜頵等颜氏子孙外,著名者先有李德裕,后有柳公权。
五代 \"书坛凋零,文采风流扫地\"。杨凝式书学颜真卿,尤其行书得力最多。
宋 \"韩忠献公琦好颜书,士俗皆学颜书\"。颜书在宋最为显赫,一代书家无不受其影响。其代表有韩琦、石延年、苏舜钦、蔡襄、蔡卞、朱长文等辈。
元 \"沿习两宋余风,多宗法颜氏\"。无一人能出类拔萃,趋变适时。
明 \"帖学复兴,学书不出赵孟頫范围\"。学颜而能独树一帜者惟李东阳一人也。(行书用笔矫健,不失规矩。)

唐代是一个伟大的朝代,社会安定,经济昌盛繁荣。自统一以来,不断发展,并与当时世界许多国家文化交流频繁。作为煊赫四方的大唐帝国,唐朝人的富足、自豪、得意使得人们的心态变得宽容开放而积极。人们崇尚雍容华贵、豪迈奔放的心理状态和生存风貌。
书法方面,开元至天宝年间,崇尚隶书,丰茂硕厚,特别是楷书,开始出现篆隶笔势,渐见雄健。
政治方面,玄宗励精图治,重振唐太宗遗风,贤相名将辈,彦才哲士济济于世,竟为其用,内治外交,政绩显殊,国威远扬。已是中国封建文化发展的高峰时代。

颜真卿,字清臣,京兆万年(今陕西西安)人,祖籍唐琅琊临沂(今山东临沂)。经历玄宗、肃宗、代宗、德宗四朝,官至吏部尚书,太子太师,封鲁郡开国公,人称 \"颜鲁公\"。玄宗时为杨国忠所恶。44岁出任平原太守,世称\"颜平原\"。安史之乱,抗贼有功。德宗时李希烈叛乱,奉旨宣尉,不成,因忠直不屈,终被缢杀。(据统计,一生为世人留下大约77件书法作品。)

唐代 \"颜书一出,学者不绝\"。学颜书者除颜頵等颜氏子孙外,著名者先有李德裕,后有柳公权。
五代 \"书坛凋零,文采风流扫地\"。杨凝式书学颜真卿,尤其行书得力最多。
宋 \"韩忠献公琦好颜书,士俗皆学颜书\"。颜书在宋最为显赫,一代书家无不受其影响。其代表有韩琦、石延年、苏舜钦、蔡襄、蔡卞、朱长文等辈。
元 \"沿习两宋余风,多宗法颜氏\"。无一人能出类拔萃,趋变适时。
明 \"帖学复兴,学书不出赵孟頫范围\"。学颜而能独树一帜者惟李东阳一人也。(行书用笔矫健,不失规矩。)
清 \"帖学由盛入衰,习颜之人日渐增多\"。学颜有成就者有:刘墉、钱沣、尹秉绶、何绍基、翁同龢等。
