The Vancouver Marathon, starting from Queen Elizabeth Park, has more uphill slopes in the first half, especially when running into Pacific Spirit Park at 9 km or so, we had to run up a large uphill slope near 1 km, which was the most difficult part of the entire track. At that moment, what I could hear were the pantings around: runners were all trying to insist.

The last 10 kilometers of the race is the picturesque Stanley Park. However, it is picturesque only in the eyes of others. Marathon runners had been exhausted, dehydrated, sugar and salt depleted, and started to cramp time to time, while the curved track at the seaside and the undulating slopes even increased the difficulties.

However, I was running; all the runners around me were running. I ran very slowly, and acute jumps in my legs at every step made me feel I might get cramped right away. The runners around me were running very slowly. Every steps they made for sure they would feel their own sufferings.

However, we kept running, 36 kilometers ... 40 kilometers ... 41 kilometers, the distance which is just a piece of cake to us usually, seemed endless long.

However, we kept running, until we saw the arc at the finish line, until we waved our hands to the spectators, until we smiled our triumphant smiles.

Marathon, as long as you run, you are surrounded by running people.
