Similar to Trans-Canada Trails, there is a Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) that spans 4,265 kilometers from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon, and Washington. Crossing 16 latitudes from south to north, the trail goes through 25 national forests and seven national parks. The trip unfolds the beauty of the Western side of the United States, with deserts, glaciers, deep forests, volcanos and much more.

Most people are out there for less than a week. Though some hikers on this trail may disappear for months at a time to enjoy this natural beauty, like the movie Wild. No matter how long you stay, you can always go back to enjoy it again.

The trail to Ramona Falls at Mt. Hood merges with the PCT, which I have been on once.

This is a 7.1 miles (11 km) fairly easy hike and the destination is a uniquely beautiful falls.

The most challenging part is passing the Sandy River without a bridge.

The hiking bridge that was originally over the Sandy river has been damaged twice by flooding, therefore hikes have to walk or crawl on a tree log to cross the roaring water.

Walking on this scenic trail is like walking inside a picture starring you and nature.

"Hiking is a bit like life:

The journey only requires you to put one foot in front of the other… again and again and again".
